Vini Rabasco
The 9ha estate of Iole Rabasco is located in the village of Pianella, province of Pescara, in the heart of Abruzzo. The area offers a unique set of meso and micro climates particular to this north-central corner of Abruzzo; the Adriatic is some 40km away while the base of Gran Sasso flanks the western edge of the Rabasco property.
The vineyards have never known the influence of synthetic treatments and are a viticultural postcard inherited from her family’s elders. The bulk of the vinification takes place in stainless steel, preserving the freshness of the hillside’s Trebbiano and Montepulciano, where more highly extracted versions are typically en vogue. The remainder of the line-up finds itself aging in low tech demijohns.
All decisions in the vineyard and cellar are determined by following the celestial cycles of the moon. Valuing honesty and authenticity, Iole’s wines are deliberately uncomplicated. Expect to drink wines with bright acidity and freshness, purely demonstrated from grape to glass.
